No, i'm saying in terms of fighting the MC right now is incapacitated and defenceless in a 1 on 1 because the mc chose not to use any strong abilities. The plot armor is that the MC's friends will protect the mc till he breaks free. Generally the people who fight the mc usually try to go for the kill or it's implied that they do for whatever reason. But most fights between people from different sects in wuxia end when 1 person can no longer continue the fight and it's normally 1 on 1. Of course the mc will end up winning though since he's the mc.

I would say that MC did lose (it's still a loss no matter how you put it even if it's by a crowd control skill) but not really admirable due it to being a sneak attack.
